Vanguard: (noun) refers to an individual or a group leading the way, at the forefront, of a movement or an idea.

This is a journey for adventurous thinkers, faithful believers, and ambitious dreamers. Expect to bring your whole self to a community that values authenticity. Expect to find mentors who love Jesus and can guide you into a deeper relationship with Him. Expect a place of rest and reflection with space to anchor yourself in God’s truth, love, and acceptance. From mid-September to late April, Vanguard takes place at the HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development of Wheaton College. Located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, HoneyRock sits on 900+ acres of land that provides a one-of-a-kind setting for incredible outdoor adventures in all seasons!

For the Curious & Dedicated 

Humble leaders are lifelong learners—of themselves, others, and cultures. Through Vanguard, you have the opportunity to earn 8 college credits through experiential and dialogue-based coursework. Here, you’ll find like-hearted friends who are both curious about and dedicated to their faith. You’ll find lifelong learners who are able to voice doubts and questions while holding to the Gospel. You’ll find a place not only of growth, faith, and learning but also of inspiring and quirky fun. Your fellow Vanguards will become your safe, challenging, and profoundly real second family.

Whole-Person Preparation for a Full Life’s Journey

As your relationships with fellow Vanguards and mentors deepen, you’ll find authentic connections and deep grace. You will speak truth into their lives, and they’ll do the same for you. This is a Christ-centered, God-honoring, Holy Spirit-led community. Milestone conversations will mark your journey through the year and will help grow your understanding of yourself, others, and the world. In this, you will discover God's most ambitious callings for your life. You will be empowered to live them out wherever you go.
